The Postcard Series:

I am intrigued why George Wehrley produced a series of postcards. The Penarth Dock Collection has over the years acquired Nos.1 to 6 in this series (as at February 2020) and I am unsure if this is the extent of the series or there are more out there to be discovered. So please excuse my indulgence if I duplicate these fine heritage records of Penarth in their correct numeric sequence!

'No.1. The Promenade Pier, Penarth.' - A postcard view of the pier with a P. & A. Campbell paddle steamer departing.

'No.2. The Beach and Esplanade, Penarth.' - Another in the series of postcards published by G. Wehrley & Co.

'No.3. View from the Pier, Penarth.' - A typical Wehrley ; a deserted pier, the Esplanade Hotel and sea-water baths.
