Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

about . . .

Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the present day - more aspects - Moments captured in time

Some B&W views of the Penarth Pier - A few more fine views from a book named '107 Views of Cardiff and District' published by Rock Bros. of London dating from c.1908.

In the Dingle of Alexander Park, Penarth - Views of the dingle bridge from the Edwardian period. The cool of the dingle was welcome on a warm summer day; days we don't seem to get anymore since all the coal shipped from Penarth probably had a long term effect on our climate.

Another view of the old entrance to Penarth Pier - The pier was an obvious focal point for the emerging art of coloured images and it was almost obligatory for every visitor and holidaymaker to send their loved ones the latest view.

Further afield on a stormy day - Hartland Point is close to the entrance to the Bristol Channel and I felt it was worth a visit.
